AECOM Cadet Drafter - Electrical in Brisbane, Australia

Job Summary

AECOM's Resources & Industrial has an opportunity for a Cadet Drafter to join our Electrical discipline in Brisbane.

As part of our highly regarded practice, you will be given the opportunity to work in an environment where sharing ideas and dreaming big is supported and encouraged. Working as a Cadet, you will perform technical tasks of limited scope and complexity on projects that deliver high quality outcomes for AECOM clients. You will be given access to industry-leading technology and technical specialists, working on innovative solutions to the world's most complex challenges.

We aren’t just offering you a job; we are offering you a career. This role is a developmental one, where you will be required to learn new skills via on the job experience and through your tertiary studies (TAFE or similar) which AECOM will support you on your journey. You will find yourself involved in project tasks of small to medium complexity where you will be required to manage time and effort effectively to achieve high quality outcomes.

As part of the 4-year Cadetship, you will be supported in obtaining your qualification to progress your career. You will work full-time, whilst being supported to complete your qualification.

Minimum Requirements

  • Keen interest in technology and design

  • Interest in pursuing a career in Electrical Drafting and Design

  • Enjoy working in a team environment

  • A strong sense of commitment, a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic, deadline driven team environment

  • Available to work full-time hours.

This role is well suited to an individual who has recently completed grade 12, or someone who is currently working towards their Associate Degree (or similar) in the Electrical field. You will be a highly motivated individual, looking to build a long-term career within a well-established drafting and engineering team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Grade 12 Certificate with a minimum pass in English and General Mathematics

  • Working towards a recognised qualification (e.g. Associate Degree, Bachelor of Engineering Technology, or equivalent), or eligible to enrol;

  • Capability in Microsoft Office and computer design packages (AutoCAD or similar)
