AECOM Energy Engineering Team Leader - East in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced Energy Engineer and Project Manager to lead our East Coast Energy Engineering team. As a team leader, you will be responsible for overseeing a team of Energy Engineers who are developing and delivering energy efficiency and decarbonization solutions to AECOM’s diverse clients. Client market segments include public and private sector clients including investment real estate, multifamily residential, healthcare, higher education, corporate, and manufacturing facilities. The primary area of focus will be the East Coast with emphasis on New York, with a secondary focus on supporting overall US portfolio of projects.

The successful candidate is a dynamic individual with high energy and motivation and a passion for developing energy efficiency solutions in a decarbonizing world. Critical skillsets include leadership, interpersonal communication skills as well as an understanding of the energy industry and a comprehensive understanding of complex energy and related building systems.

This position:

  • Works collaboratively with direct reports and other teams within Energy and across AECOM

  • Is accountable for the results of the team

  • Supervises and trains others

  • Delivers effective communication inclusive of clients and team members to clarify expectations and requirements

  • Makes day-to-day decisions for the team of direct reports

  • Develops technical strategy for proposals within area of expertise

  • Advises local management on growth, staff recruitment and retention, and technical excellence strategies

  • Identifies trends, issues and opportunities for their area of the business, industry, service line or process

  • Actively involved with clients and supports business development initiatives

  • Applies acquired expertise and knowledge to solve business challenges and provide coaching to peers and team members

  • Recruits, trains, and evaluates less experienced staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related field

  • 8 years of directly relevant experience

  • Demonstrated experience managing teams

  • Demonstrated experience preparing proposals

  • Demonstrated experience managing projects

Preferred Qualifications

  • CEM, PE, LEED AP or other relevant certification

  • Experience with hiring, retention and career development

  • Experience managing cross functional teams

  • Experience working in a matrixed organization

  • Experience managing a client account or a portfolio of projects

  • Experience delivering results against financial KPIs such as UTE, DPE, BDROI and EBITA
