AECOM Energy Engineer in Boston, Massachusetts
AECOM is seeking a highly motivated Energy auditor experienced with the design and implementation of heat pump systems.
This team works on a variety of energy efficiency, resilience, and decarbonization initiatives for municipal, utility, and commercial and industrial clients. This position will perform technical tasks on a variety of projects including energy efficiency, distributed generation, renewable energy, energy master planning, district energy systems, net-zero buildings, monitoring base commissioning, grid-interactive buildings, and building decarbonization.
The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed individual with an excellent understanding of building mechanical systems, distributed energy resources (electric vehicles, solar photovoltaic, battery storage), and energy system decarbonization. The candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver innovative energy that leverage the use of data analytics to identify, analyze, and specify energy reduction measures.

Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:
Leading the development of mechanical energy efficient strategies looking at, but not limited to: heat pump systems, VRF, and weatherization
Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work
Perform commercial energy audits for small C&I customers with aim to reduce overall energy consumption
Troubleshoot technical problems and issues related to energy usage
Work requires occasional physical exertion including some lifting of objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Identify and communicate all program eligible energy efficient upgrade options
Preparing and presenting results and professional recommendations, in report or presentation format, to clients and teams
Perform energy calculations to identify and validate energy conservation measures (ECMs)
Develop cost estimates associated with ECMs

BS/BA in Engineering with 6 years of relevant experience
Experience must include one or more of the following:
Conducting energy audits and site investigations,
Energy assessment, design, or development
Energy conservation projects associated with lighting, HVAC Systems, energy management and control systems and/or performing energy calculations
10 years of relevant experience
Experience with utility programs
Demonstrated networking capabilities with public and private clients, power and energy industries, from inception through contract award and implementation
Knowledge of the financial, technical, and political aspects driving both the energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, smart energy and utility industries and energy infrastructure development
