AECOM is engaged in significant operations in the various Colombian market sectors and is currently seeking a Country Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven leader who is looking to play a key role in rapid expansion of architecture, design, engineering, and construction services for public and private clients across a broad range of industry sectors. This position will serve as the catalyst to deliver AECOM business across the enterprise, expanding the local presence of the firm while leveraging the Company's Centers of Excellence and client base around the world. Under the supervision of the Vice President and Area Manager for Latin America, this important strategic position of Country Manager will be responsible for managing AECOM's operations in Colombia, including the development of business opportunities, the management of ongoing projects, and the fiscal and regulatory management of local operations.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Direct profit & loss responsibility for this operating entity; achieve budget forecast in terms of sales, revenues, costs, operational profits as well as market share
Responsible for the daily operations and oversight of a stand-alone agency employing 100+ employees (of various disciplines) with primary responsibility for all commercial, financial, logistic and operation activities within the area of responsibility
Related duties are successfully accomplished through delegation of activities and responsibilities to senior management team members
Formulate plans and implement effective business strategies designed to increase sales revenues and operational profits generated through existing and new business lines, in line with global strategy
Apply industry experience to identify and develop new business opportunities with the objective to expand the present scope of this operation
Conduct regular business reviews and maintain close contacts with key stakeholders to build value-based relationships
Demonstrate strong leadership and team-building skills to ensure continuity and staff development, whilst recognizing the importance of innovation and diversification
Deliver results through performance monitoring, measurement and Key Performance Indicators adherence
Ensure the highest level of service to clients, in order to build a trustworthy and long lasting relationship
Coordinate the project review meetings with each of the respective project teams and related business development group on a monthly basis
Coordinate the weekly project review meetings with the Project Execution senior management - ensure consistent format of Reports and ensure that key issues are captured by the reports
Identify technical resource requirements for AECOM projects
Adjust workloads and schedules to balance project requirements with available resources to keep team staff utilized to meet growth objectives
Build relationships with firm-wide and regional business lines
Ensure that AECOM's wide range of technical expertise is incorporated effectively in project teams
Assume responsibility for successful execution of projects, monitoring performance of work to confirm it is done in accordance with cost, schedules, contractual and client requirements
Carry responsibility for all HSE matters within their operating areas/departments
Promote and support the achievement of high safety standards for all employees as part of a commitment to continual improvement
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction, management, or related advanced degree
8+ years of experience with at least 5 years of experience in a managerial level with Design, Engineering and/or Construction firm experience in public sector, or in managerial level at public agencies working in infrastructure, housing, or other fields akin to AECOM’s line of work
Fluent English and Spanish language skills (both spoken & written)
Extensive experience with marketing and project delivery of environmental, engineering, design, architecture and/or construction services in Colombia
Successful track record of leading/supporting business development and fostering long term strategic business relationships translating into increased revenue growth
Proven people management, leadership skills and good communication skills with a high level of cultural awareness
Proven ability in running and growing business units
Master's Degree in Business Administration Degree preferred
15+ years of experience with at least 5 years of experience in a managerial level with Design, Engineering and/or Construction firm experience in public sector, or in managerial level at public agencies working in infrastructure, housing, or other fields akin to AECOM’s line of work
