AECOM Construction Inspector II in Bismarck, North Dakota

AECOM is actively seeking experienced, creative, highly talented Construction Inspector for highway and bridge construction projects in North Dakota.
Performs a variety of tasks in support of the engineering staff.
Monitors and documents conformance with quality, performance, safety, and/or code requirements.
Activities may include assisting with engineering calculations, setting up and operating equipment, inspecting equipment and engineering installations for compliance with specifications and maintaining project documentation.
General understanding of procedures, company policies to achieve set results and deadlines.
Performs routine duties; viewed as fully competent within limits of experience.
Professional certification desirable if applicable.
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
2 or more years of experience in construction inspection of highway and bridge construction in North Dakota
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Occasional lifting of equipment or materials up to 60 lbs. and perform physical activities required of the testing procedures including squatting, bending, lifting, climbing and traversing difficult terrain
Good communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to effectively communicate with lower level technicians and project manager
Ability to read and interpret construction plans, contract provisions, and inspection procedures
Basic computer skills including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and use of iPad
Current NDDOT Asphalt Pavement Inspector Certification
Current NDDOT Erosion Control Certification
ND DOT experience preferred
Associates degree in Civil Engineering Technology or similar focus preferred
Engineering Interns (EI) may be eligible for this position with less than the required years of experience
General knowledge of surveying methods, equipment and material used in highway construction
Relocation or per diem benefits are available with this position
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Capable of lifting 75 lbs
Willing to work hours necessary to complete the inspection; this work may require day and/ or night inspection along with holidays and weekends
Must possess a valid driver license with acceptable driving record.
