Our Streets team have a vacancy for a Traffic / Highway Engineer in our Birmingham City Centre office. Flexible working/working from home available.
As an Engineer, you will form part of a project team on small to large projects with responsibility for ensuring successful project delivery to meet Client expectations. In doing so you will support our contract commitments whilst ensuring the designs are produced to a high quality and in accordance with all relevant standards and guidance.
The Streets team provides concept, preliminary and detailed design and network modelling services on a wide range of projects for local authorities and contractors plus supports other AECOM business lines where their projects have a specialised traffic and highways interface.
You will be joining a growing team that is actively involved in the delivery of projects and services to a range of both local and national clients including:
West Midlands Combined Authority / Transport for West Midlands
Wolverhampton City Council
Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council
Coventry City Council
Oxfordshire County Council
Knowledge of relevant design and safety standards (e.g. DMRB, TSRGD, MCHW, Manual for Streets, CDM Regulations).
Ability to Undertake Health & Safety duties including fulfilling all responsibilities for safety, health and environment in design.
Experience in the design of highway engineering and local transport schemes, including preparation of design drawings, reports, and technical notes.
Motivated to learn new skills to develop self and the team.
Ability/willingness to Input into detailed client briefs and fee proposals and contribute to major bids.
Excellent people skills
Whilst not essential the following skills would be desirable:
Appreciation of traffic modelling
3D Design (Civils 3D)
CSCS Card holder
- A relevant MSc/MEng, degree or HND and membership of a professional institution and working towards an appropriate Chartered / Incorporated status.
