Job Description
Are you a Civil Engineer with strong analytical skills and experience in technical delivery of water engineering projects?
If yes, we have exciting career roles for Civil Engineers from Engineer to Senior level in our established Water team, with a flexible base across the Midlands or North of England.

Our Water team has delivered some of the most high-profile projects across the UK, so your projects and clients will be varied and interesting. Examples of our current projects and clients include:
Severn Trent Water – AECOM has been appointed to deliver design services for major schemes in AMP7. Our portfolio of projects is building rapidly and includes some of the most strategically important schemes for Severn Trent.
Thames Water – AECOM has positions across all scales of delivery including major projects such as Thames Tideway Tunnel, Deephams STW upgrade and ‘Capital Delivery’ infra and non-infra schemes across the Thames region.
Wessex Water – AECOM has been appointed on several AMP7 frameworks, including the Capital Delivery framework.We offer ongoing opportunities for professional development.

You will:
Work closely with our Water and other supply discipline teams nationwide.Be expected to deliver a high calibre of technical quality, contribute to bids, and interface with clients and collaborators in design and planning.
Seek innovation and trial new methods, being inquisitive by nature.
See delivery through from conception to handover. Some of these projects will be large-scale and prestigious CV-builders.
Visit on site to carry out site surveys and support liaisons with clients, government authorities, contractors and suppliers.
Be tasked with delivering to agreed budget, programme and quality along with supporting the preparation of project budget & programme.
Qualifications
We are looking for you to:
Have water and wastewater infrastructure and / or treatment project experience across feasibility, outline, detailed design, construction support extremely desirable.
Be able to understand, and work within, defined procedures and design standards.
Be experienced using a 3D Design tool and other proprietary software products.
Be capable to take full responsibility for producing, checking and approving engineering reports and designs.
Provide mentoring, guidance and technical advice to support and supervise junior staff
Have the ability to perform work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Be experienced working in a digital delivery environment using BIM and 3D design tools
Be experienced working for contractors in a design and build environment
Hold contractual awareness, e.g. NEC4
Have working understanding of programme planning software e.g. Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
Hold industry recognised Health and Safety qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have an HNC, degree or equivalent experience in civil engineering
Work toward a relevant professional chartership; for example, ICE.
