About Our Role:
Our Midlands Programme, Project and Cost Management Business Unit continues to grow, with a specific growth demand for a Senior Project Manager. We have successfully secured positions with high profile clients and key local projects and programs.
As a direct result of this growth, we are currently seeking a Project Manager based in Birmingham to develop our business growth.
Your role will be to deliver projects from inception through to completion in a consultancy capacity. Ideally you will have experience working on Public Sector projects. The role will be client-facing and strong written and verbal communication skills will be required. Experience in managing multiple projects, stakeholders and multiple moving parts at once is essential.
You will be part of an exciting and diverse team, supporting us to successfully manage and deliver capital projects across the Midlands and UK. The role would cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception and business case development, through the design, procurement process, site delivery, commissioning phase and defects management.
Job Duties will include:
Leading in the delivery of Project Management Commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.
Ensuring commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time
Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team
To ‘win’ clients through strong business development skills
Being the primary interface with AECOM clients (New and Existing)
Providing leadership within project management business and provide leadership and mentoring to the team
Providing effective support to Assistant/Graduate Project Managers.
Managing the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed time-scales and quality standards
Minimum Requirements
Excellent communication, presentation and organisational skills
Highly motivated with good knowledge of Tertiary Education projects
Production of formal reports and documents which clearly set out complex issues
Experience of successfully delivering construction projects
Experience in a number of project management roles
Good Understanding of CDM regulations
Good design management experience.
Good contractor management experience
Experience of working with stakeholders/clients to produce Strategic Development Briefs and Client/User requirements
Experience of working as part of complex, multi-disciplinary/multi-agency Project Teams
NEC 3 Contract Administration (Accreditation a positive)
Experience of Risk and Stakeholder Management techniques
Security clearance would be an advantage.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional Qualified – ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Degree
Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution
APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation
