Job Description

Job Summary

As a Project Manager you will be expected to work with a Senior Project Manager, Associate or Director to successfully manage, coordinate and deliver projects.

The role will cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase.

Role can be full-time, part-time or on a job-share basis.

Job Duties

  • Lead Project Management commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.

  • Provide effective support and mentoring to Graduates and Apprentices.

  • Ensure commissions are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client’s satisfaction.

  • Develops strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team.

  • Be the primary interface with AECOM clients (new and existing).

  • Ensure all team members reporting to you have current and relevant training.

  • Manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.

  • Provide full Project Management duties to AECOM clients.

Approach to all projects requires a high degree of flexibility and creativity, excellent presentational skills and an ability to communicate effectively with clients and consultants. The successful candidate shall be charged with the delivery of Project Management Services within our Client focused and highly motivated professional team.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • 2-4 years proven experience in a consulting environment providing the full spectrum of PM services including chairing meetings, minuting and proactively engaging in discussions, developing the PEP, progress reports, procurement strategies and tender documentation. General post contract management and administration, proactively engaging with Client, contractor and other stakeholders, being aware of the scope of service and ensuring we deliver within the agreed parameters and help to resolve disputes whenever possible

  • Passionate about delivering high quality consulting services to our clients.

  • Understanding of NEC standard forms of contract.

  • Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on value, risks and programme in a holistic way

  • Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilize the current digital tools are be essential.

  • Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner.

  • Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors. Residential, Commercial, Education, Data Centre, sector experience would be advantageous.

  • Ability to manage relationships effectively.

  • Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally.

  • Is accountable and responsible for own actions.

  • Able to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with the Senior Project Managers and Associates in the delivery of some of our projects.

  • Keen to work as part of a team and to develop and progress career development.

  • Engenders a right first-time approach.

  • Understand the fundamentals of the internal AECOM management systems and undertake Deputy/ PM duties in APIC and to be commercially aware.

  • Supporter of social and CSR activities, promoting a positive and enjoyable workplace.

Preferred Skills

  • Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Project management or other construction or engineering related profession.

  • Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Project Manager Status with the RICS, APM, CIOB or other equivalent institution.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects for a variety of public and private sector clients.
