We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Stakeholder Engagement Consultant to join our team in London, managing and delivering stakeholder engagement and consultation for infrastructure projects across the region. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about delivering effective communications and who can demonstrate experience in managing projects, people and resources and engaging and consulting a wide range of audiences to support complex projects. Knowledge of relevant planning and environmental policy developments related to stakeholder participation and engagement would be an advantage, as would experience in the infrastructure, development and energy sectors. The successful candidate will be supported by our established Stakeholder Engagement team in the region. The team is based in London, but candidates wanting to work from other offices will also be considered. We are looking for someone who is ambitious and motivated, who can bring new ideas about engagement and is interested in learnig about our work across different sectors and leading people and projects. The majority of our work revolves around engagement, consultation and communications during the consenting or construction phase of major infrastructure projects. We have been involved in a range of high-profile projects in the north of England and further afield, across a range of sectors, including: Major rail schemes, such as East West Rail and King’s Cross Major highways improvement schemes for Highways England, such as the A27 Arundel Bypass scheme and the A428 Black Cat to Caxton Gibbet Schemes in construction including Burgess Hill (Homes England), Canada Water (British Land) and for the North London Waste Authority
You will have experience in industry sectors relevant to our business (e.g. transport, energy, water, residential development, commercial development), and will be confident engaging a variety of stakeholder groups.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic, much of our work involved going out and meeting stakeholders and the community. We hope to pick this up again in the future and assume that you will be willing to work flexibly and to travel as and when required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Some experience of Microsoft Teams tools would also be an advantage, as would experience with InDesign.
