Job Summary

Our UK + Ireland design team is seeking an Architecture Director with experience in industrial projects to join our team based in UK South.

The right candidate will have a proven track record of winning, managing and delivering major industrial projects, preferably. You will have excellent understanding of the interface between buildings designs and process engineering.

This role is based in UK South, Bristol, Birmingham or Swindon as preferred and will require some travel within the UK and Ireland, as needed.

Job Duties:

  • provide professional leadership in Architecture in the Industrial sector, with a focus on manufacturing / automotive

  • support the development of a joint architecture/process engineering service offer for global manufacturing clients in UK&I and Continental Europe

  • co-ordinate with Middle East & Africa practice to enable resource sharing

  • represent the AECOM architecture discipline in all sectors in SW England as and when required

  • Help to assess staff requirements at each work stage, agreeing these with the Project Manager and be able to manage single disciplinary and multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Attend progress, design team and co-ordinate meetings.

  • Understand and implement AECOM’s Safety Health and Environment Policy.

  • Contribute to work winning strategy workshops and customer account management

  • Manage a range of writing and business reporting activities

  • Operate within the Company’s compliance standards to manage commercial and project risks

  • Resource forecasting and management

  • Conduct regular project performance reviews

Minimum Requirements

  • Post qualification, a large proportion of which spent in manufacturing/ automotive sector

  • Demonstrable track record in leadership of design teams on major industrial projects

  • Deep understanding of the interface between buildings design and process engineering

  • Experience in project and client management within a defined fee budget and programme

  • Experience in identifying and winning new work and building client relationships.

  • Ability to speak fluently and communicate effectively in written reports and oral presentations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Licensed to practice as Architect in UK, RIBA and ARB preferred
