AECOM Associate Geoenvironmental Consultant in Birmingham, United Kingdom
United Kingdom - Greater Manchester, Manchester
Our Remediation Practice is looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Associate-grade Consultant to join us in our work on contaminated land and remediation projects across the UK, focused specifically (but not exclusively) on the nuclear industry sector. As an integral member of the Practice and a regional team, you will have the opportunity to lead on a wide range of geo-environmental assessments and lead the delivery of services to private and public sector clients including developers, global oil & gas companies, the nuclear industry, Fortune 500 multinational corporations, regulatory bodies and government agencies; including the Environment Agency, Homes England, Highways England and local authorities. The team also support other AECOM business lines where their projects have a contaminated land and remediation interface and who are involved in the delivery of multi-disciplinary design, build and construction schemes.
Nationally our Practice is one of the largest in the UK and has an established track record in successfully delivering land contamination assessment and remediation works. We are now looking to enhance and grow the Practice with an individual that can offer a sound technical background in geo-environmental assessments for the nuclear sector; who can be proactive in their approach to work; and who wants to share in our enthusiasm and determination to lead and drive growth in our important client-base in this sector.
We require an ambitious team player with the technical and commercial skills, knowledge and experience to take overall responsibility for the capture and delivery of projects, ensuring technical quality and adherence to budget and programme, to manage and mentor project staff, and develop and maintain strong client relationships that deliver repeat business and “Trusted Advisor” status. The position will suit those who can work with a high degree of independence, good commercial acumen, and successfully lead projects from desk study/feasibility through ground investigation and interpretation to final design.
To be successful, candidates must have a proven track record in the capture and delivery of geo-environmental projects in the UK nuclear sector, be fully conversant with the regulations and technical standards that apply to that sector, and have developed strong client relationships within the sector.
The Remediation Practice provides services ranging from desk studies, site investigation, risk assessment, remediation (strategy development, design, implementation and validation), monitoring and close-out on a wide range of contracts and sits within a Business Unit that also comprises Ground Engineering, Energy, and Transaction & Compliance practices.
