AECOM Associate Director Safety, Health & Environment in Birmingham, United Kingdom

SHE B&P Lead (50%) - providing competent health and safety advice to AECOM's Buildings and Places UK & I business.

H&S Consulting (50% - providing competent H&S advice and CDM-A/Principal Designer Services to AECOM and its clients.

  • Understand the B+P UKI business, how and where it operates, and it’s SH&E needs and challenges to drive beneficial outcomes.

  • Develop and implement B+P UKI SH&E strategy and initiatives to drive positive change in SHE risk management

  • Forge effective relationships with Discipline Leads to become the trusted advisor, coach, and thought leader on SHE matters and lead the Safety Leadership Team to drive effective SH&E risk management in B+P UKI.

  • Participate in key business decision making forums/processes to ensure project SH&E risks are adequately assessed and managed (Go/NoGo, Healthy Starts, Safety in Design Reviews, project plan reviews, etc.)

  • Conduct regular project reviews, audits, inspections and investigations to help drive effective SHE risk management execution

  • Implement effective SHE development and training programs to promote staff competence and capability

  • Communicate effectively to share best practices, lessons learnt, alerts and engage staff in local and corporate initiatives

  • Proactively monitor, manage and report SH&E performance (CVM’s, Business Line SH&E KPI’s, Incident reporting (IS and RIDDOR), legal compliance, etc.)

  • Engage with EMEA Core SHE Team to implement UK&I/EMEA/Corporate SH&E initiatives, requirements and strategy

Associate Director (H&S)

  • Providing Health & Safety consultancy services and CDM-Advisor & Principal Designer services to clients and AECOM staff.

Minimum Requirements

  • Prior experience providing competent H&S advice, and at least 5 years experience delivering CDM advisory and/or principal designer role preferably in both infrastructure and property sectors.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership of Association for Project Safety

  • CMIOSH plus NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent
