AECOM First Operator / Facilities Engineer in Bethesda, Maryland

Operate and maintain boilers, on scheduled rotational shifts
Operate and maintain boilers, incinerators and associated equipment.
Make periodic tours of assigned equipment and systems within Compound, recording required data.
Monitor water treatment program for Central Plant.
Monitor and execute the Lock-out/Tag-out program.
Report all faults, deficiencies, and unusual occurrences to the Lead and Chief Engineer.
Respond to emergency situations on assigned equipment, performing all tasks necessary for the protection of property and personnel.
Assume all responsibilities of HVAC Grade I as assigned by Chief Engineer on maintenance days.
Perform other job related work as required.
Monitor and operate assigned control systems.
Able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
High school, technical school, or trade school graduate or equivalent apprenticeship
Four (4) years’ experience in central plant operations
Working knowledge of HVAC systems.
Must have a First Class Maryland Engineer's License, 3rd class DC or comparable
Must possess universal CFC certification.
Able to read and interpret blueprints.
Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions
Be capable, as required, to stand watches for any person under their supervision, and to work with the tools of the operating engineer’s trade.
Basic knowledge of blueprints
Thorough knowledge of piping systems
Experience and ability to operate chiller systems
A willingness to work rotational shift if necessary including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends and holidays as required
Top Secret Government Clearance
Ability to write correspondence.
Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Have basic computer skills.
Formalized training in stationery engineering or related crafts.
