AECOM is seeking an Electronics Technician at our Ijamsville, MD office.
Position Description : Perform a variety of technical engineering assignments in the development, research design, manufacturer, test, installation, modification, and operation of diverse electronic/mechanical systems.
Perform design, development, or review tasks in specific areas as they related to electrical and mechanical systems.
Work from drawings, sketches, schematics, work orders or as directed orally or written instructions.
Conduct basic tests which may require test equipment/set-ups or procedures.
Ability to solder and use hand tools, i.e. crimpers, wire strippers.
Ability to hard wire chassis, fabricate harnesses and cables, preferably to IPC-A-610 standards.
Recommend solutions to problems in design and fit during installation and repair of electrical/electronic systems.
Perform troubleshooting/problem identification and resolution of routine electrical system malfunctions.
Perform, coordinate and support acquisition of components, support the assembly, installation, modification, monitoring, operation, testing, and servicing of equipment and systems at company and client site.
Test electronic circuits and components, utilizing appropriate electronic test equipment and hand tools. Assemble various components including cases, PC boards, circuitry, controllers, and I/O cards.
Provide miscellaneous technical and non-technical support as required or directed.
Provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians.
Vocational/technical training (prefer Associates degree) beyond high school and at least 5 years of job-related experience or equivalent.
Candidate must have good communication and analytical skills, working knowledge of word processing and integrated software application, and a thorough working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic principles.
Must be capable of generating and reading wiring diagrams and schematics, drawings or following oral direction/ written instructions.
Position requires an active secret clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship.
