Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Systems Safety Engineer to be based in India.
This role will work very closely on projects to ensure that operational deployment is a success. The role will work in accordance with AECOM’s values and demonstrate commitment, active involvement and leadership regarding zero harm, client, people and financial accountabilities. When undertaking tasks on rail related projects, the role will comply with requirements as defined by Rail Safety National Law National Regulations 2012 and the project specific requirements regarding “rail safety work”.
Note: you may be required to undertake a formal Competency Assessment and further Rail Safety Training if required under the Contract Conditions.
Responsibilities of this role may include:
Development of System Engineering and Assurance plans and processes.
Detailed knowledge of relevant standards and guidelines including:
ONRSR Major Project Guideline (NSW, AU) or Local regulations
ONRSR Meaning of Duty to Ensure Safety SFAIRP Guideline (or Local Guidelines)
EN50126/8/9
RISSB Systems Safety Assurance Guideline
Prepare, Facilitate and Report on Hazard Analysis activities (SiD, PHA, SHA, SSHA, OSHA, IHA).
Undertake FMECA and FTA analysis.
Develop Safety Statement and Safety Assurance Report.
Develop System Safety Case throughout the V lifecycle.
Undertake RAM Analysis and prepare RAM Assurance report.
Prepare and manage Hazard Log.
Prepare and Manage RAM Log.
Achieving engineering and project milestones within the project schedule.
Conducting system assurance activities in accordance with systems engineering framework based upon ISO/IEEE standards.
Participate/Lead Assurance gate submission for smaller projects.
Contributing to design reviews, workshops, integration, test and site installation activities.
Working as part of a project or bid team for and of delivery mission-critical capability.
Liaising with customers, end-users, subcontractors and suppliers and experience as or working with Independent Safety Assessors and working with Notified bodies .
Qualifications
Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
Chartered Engineer (CEng), or Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent in the relevant field from any global organization (e.g., Institution of Civil Engineers, UK)
Mechanical, software, electronics/electrical or systems engineering degree or equivalent experience in Systems Safety and Assurance area
8+ years of experience
A strong background in systems safety, RAM and assurance
Practical experience in all phases of the Systems Engineering Life Cycle, processes and principles.
Practical experience in System Safety and RAM Management and using relevant tools.
Experience of integration, verification, validation
Experience in undertaking Systems Assurance activities such as Gate Submission to support successful delivery through to assurance gates
A high level of interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
