AECOM is seeking an experienced Director to join our UK & Ireland team with a view to leading cost management services on large-scale development projects within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Whilst the role will be based within either the UK or Ireland, regular travel to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia may be required.
The Director will be accountable to the relevant UK&I regional Operating Unit Leader (location dependent) as well as senior AECOM leadership responsible for our delivery within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Demonstrable experience of successful delivery within the Middle East is required, with a focus on large scale and complex developments that include enabling infrastructure as well as cultural, public, resort and commercial uses.
Strong co-ordination and communication skills will be required in leading cost management teams, working closely with our project management team and other internal and external design consultants as well as other project stakeholders.
The Director will be expected to demonstrate a high level of commercial awareness and acumen to ensure AECOM’s commercial performance and be experienced in negotiating with Middle East clients or their representatives.
The Director will be responsible for the overall cost management and control of projects. The Director will also define and establish project specific cost management process and reporting procedures in line with Client requirements.
The role will include line management responsibility as well as responsibility for directing others in their roles. The Director will therefore be expected to provide guidance to subordinate managers as well as enforce company and project policies.
As a senior member of our team the role will require management of the cost management service in accordance with AECOM governance, commercial and quality processes. Where necessary seeking guidance and advice from AECOM’s Operations and Commercial Directors.
The Director will also oversee and ensure that our services are delivered in accordance with the terms and conditions of our appointment and contracted schedule of services.
Professional Qualified – Chartered Status with the RICS or other equivalent institution is preferred.
Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management or similar construction related undergraduate degree.
Significant experience within a similar consultancy or other relevant business
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Demonstrable ability to lead, mentor and grow a team
Demonstrable success in winning new work and growing client relationships
Demonstrable track record in successfully delivering complex projects
Willing to travel internationally when required
