Our all Ireland Programme, Project & Cost Management Business Unit continues to grow, with a specific growth demand within the Infrastructure sector (Aviation, Rail, Highways, Water, Power, Ports) where we have successfully secured positions with many high profile clients and some key local projects and programs in the industry.
As a direct result of this growth, we are currently seeking a full time Civils Cost Manager/Quantity Surveyor based in Belfast to support in our business growth.
You will be part of an exciting new team supporting us to successfully manage and deliver various capital projects across Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, and the wider global AECOM.
The role will cover the whole project lifecycle from initial inception, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase. Duties will comprise preparation of estimates, preparation of bills of quantities, attendance at meetings, contractual advice, contribute to risk management, cost control during design stages, reporting, procurement of contractors, cost control during construction, agreement of final account.
You should possess the skills and experience to actively support the internal team and manage more junior staff.
You will help develop collaborative relationships with our clients and other professional colleagues within the industry.
Day to day client point of contact for projects.
Successful delivery of projects, leading to further repeat clients and their business.
Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills are key.
Ability to develop long term relationships with all team members, and effectively balance people and processes.
Understands and can demonstrate the importance of Client focus.
Experience of delivering technically complex projects in the Sectors highlighted above from inception to completion. Cost Management experience in the Water Sector would be a specific requirement.
Good understanding of project governance and procurement processes.
2-3 years proven experience in a consulting/contracting environment providing the full spectrum of CM services including Pre-Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.
Passionate about delivering high quality consulting services to our clients.
Understanding of NEC standard form of contract.
Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.
Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise digital measurement, cost planning and tender document tools shall be essential.
Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to challenge in a positive and engaging manner.
Understanding of a variety of project types/sizes/sectors.
Ability to manage relationships effectively.
Ability to manage relationships both internally and externally.
Is accountable and responsible for own actions.
Able to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with the Senior Cost Managers and Associates in the delivery of projects.
Keen to work as part of a team and to develop and progress career development.
Engenders a right first-time approach.
Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.
Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the CICES, RICS or other equivalent institution.
