AECOM Warehouse Logistics Supervisor in Bedford, Indiana

Job Summary

AECOM is hiring a Warehouse Logistics Supervisor to supervise the day-to-day operations of a high-volume operation to include receiving, processing and reporting the status of requisitions, backorder management, managing inventories and commodities; research and cataloging; and procuring storing HAZMAT material, issuing material and financial management and accounting.

Essential Responsibilities:

1.Supervise the staff including ensuring staff is adequately trained; coordinates, priorities and schedules workloads to ensure timely and effective completion of work. Ensure all orders are placed, received, kitted/re-poured and shipped in accordance with all safety, environmental and DOT regulations.

2.Monitor and evaluates staff performance.

3.Ensure compliance of all logistic services in accordance with DoD standards and regulations; Statement of Work (SOW), company policies, procedures, and directives.

4.Review and monitor budgets for logistics programs and departments notifying Program Manager of expenditures and limits.

5.Assists in the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the overall effective logistics program to support the initiatives and directives of the customer. Update and maintain all Work Instructions as well as Operating Procedures and Health and Safety Plans.

6.Examine the efficiency and effectiveness of departmental procedures and recommend new initiatives and methodology in the logistics area based on requirements and priorities.

7.Act as the company liaison with other contractors and the customer for planning, implementing and coordinating logistics initiatives.

Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Bachelor's degree in business or related field and at least 10 years of relevant logistics experience and 5 years of supervisory experience in one or more of the following: logistics services, material management, transportation, material handling, use of information systems in logistics management or equivalent training and work experience. Excellent analytical and communications skills; must possess planning/organizing and leadership skills, and a valid driver’s license. General understanding of current systems and methodologies. Must be able to pass and maintain a Forklift certification. Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:

Work is performed in a variety of settings including an office environment, warehouse and outside with occasional exposure to Hazmat materials in proper containers. Regular lifting to 50 pounds, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must be able to work under deadlines.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field and at least 5 years of relevant logistics experience and 5 years of supervisory experience in one or more of the following: logistics services, material management, transportation, material handling, use of information systems in logistics management or equivalent training and work experience.

  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.

  • Must possess planning/organizing and leadership skills.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

  • General understanding of current systems and methodologies.

  • Must be able to pass and maintain a Forklift certification.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.

  • Ability to achieve Re-pour certification to repackage hazardous material from bulk containers to smaller quantities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred candidate will have 10 years of logistics experience.

  • Knowledge of Loftware software would be needed to create and maintain 2” x 4” as well as 4” x 6” shipping label templates.

  • ISO experience
