AECOM Senior Sediment Engineer in Baton Rouge, Louisiana

AECOM is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Coastal or Environmental Engineer in the Baton Rouge, LA office with strong technical and management experience to assist and support high profile sediments projects in the Gulf Coast and throughout North America. We seek a technically proficient individual with demonstrated experience successfully addressing investigation, design and restoration of contaminated sediment sites with multiple potentially responsible parties (PRPs), including experience with design and implementation of contaminated sediment dredging, capping and natural recovery projects. A successful candidate must be able to write and communicate thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner; and oversee and work productively with junior technical staff and subcontractors while assuring work scope(s) and safety requirements are met. Excellent communication, organization and prioritization skills will be necessary to work in our collaborative team-oriented offices; strong interpersonal skills are a must. The individual should have a relevant technical background in engineering, physical sciences, oceanography and/or ecological studies in marine/coastal and aquatic systems and as well as experience in planning and managing projects, applies existing criteria in new ways and draws conclusions from comparative situations.
May provide technical guidance to a modest sized group of engineers, designers, and specialists.
Fully versed in the project change control process and can identify a potential change.
Fully versed with and can check and review the work sequence, general content, and the methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within a specific discipline.
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained worker.
- BA/BS + 12 YORE or AA/AS + 14 YORE
Computer proficient in MS Office, ESRI, and a variety of statistical programs helpful
Strong team worker, flexible and hard working
Attention to detail and a thorough approach to work
Strong communication skills at all levels
Organized and able to manage multiple tasks/projects at a time
OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification, and current 8-hour refresher
