AECOM’s Sustainability Team comprises of specialists within our Building and Places Business Line. We are recognised as industry leaders in the field of sustainable development. We work with clients and design teams to develop a wide range of sustainability strategies to support the design and planning of developments and large-scale regeneration.
We work across all development stages, from pre-feasibility, through feasibility, design, construction and operation; and across a wide range of clients and sectors - housing, healthcare, schools, universities, offices, retail, hospitality etc.
We are looking for an experienced consultant to join our team in Basingstoke, Hampshire (hybrid remote working is available). Our work includes:
Whole Life-cycle Carbon (WLC) Assessments
Energy strategies and modelling
Production of bespoke reports including sustainability statements and appraisals
Circular Economy Statements
Operational Energy Modelling
Design advice and feasibility studies for new build and refurbishment projects
Supporting the production of client tender documents for contractors
Research into reducing energy & carbon use, improving resilience to climate change and creating more sustainable buildings and places.

Your key responsibilities, with support from your team, may include the following:
Undertake Life-cycle Carbon Assessments (WLC / LCA) on a range of developments to quantify the environmental impact in line with both planning policy, clients briefs and CIBSE TM65 guidance.
Ongoing research and development into embodied carbon, new products, Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and construction techniques to minimise the whole life-cycle carbon impact of buildings.
Developing sustainability strategies to support building design teams and sustainability statements to support planning applications.
Undertaking energy modelling and strategies to support building design teams and energy statements to support planning applications.
Contributing to a wide range of projects as the workload dictates.
Building client relationships and delivering work.
Delegating work to junior staff and managing delivery.
A science, engineering, structural, architectural or building-related bachelor degree or Direct experience in the topic or transferable skills.
Have a good understanding of and interest in sustainable development issues as how they relate to the built environment.
