Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Senior Drainage Engineer for immediate employment in the Baltimore or Hunt Valley, MD office.This position requires experience in drainage and will be responsible for leading and/or participating on design teams for Maryland based roadway transportation projects. Projects are delivered using procedures typical to Maryland Department of Transportation and local Maryland governments.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Roadway design and hydrology

  • Post-construction stormwater management design

  • Erosion control designs

  • Projects range from intersection improvements to majorinterstate and interchange reconstructions

  • The candidate will be located in the Hunt Valley or Baltimore offices

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering

  • 10+ years of experience in Hyrdraulics/Hydrology to include 5+ years of drainage and stormwater

  • Maryland PE

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD, HCS, AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)

  • Understanding of state/local stormwater requirements and guidelines

  • Excellent communication and writing skills (comfortable with preparing and giving presentations)Motivated self-starter who displays a passion for solving problems, interacting in a team environment, and meeting established deadlines

  • Ability to convey thoughts and ideas in a clear and concise

  • manner

Preferred Qualifications

  • ESPCP Certification

  • Experience designing Georgia based roadway projects

  • Knowledge and training with GDOT plan development process

  • Knowledge and training with AASHTO Greenbook Guidelines, civil design software and MicroStation

  • Knowledge of GDOT plan development process, design policy manual and electronic guidelines
