AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Bridge Engineer for employment in the Baltimore, MD office. Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:

  • Develop structural details, plans and specifications

  • Prepare technical reports

  • Field related work including site visits, material and data collection, bridge and sign structure inspections

  • Participate in continuing education activities

  • Collaborate with team and other discipline members on project development

  • Perform structural analysis and design for bridge related structures

  • Perform calculations with respect to code compliance (AASHTO, AWS, ASTM, etc.) and project specific standards and requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering

  • Proficiency in Steel and Concrete Design

  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability and willingness to perform field work (bridge inspections, geotechnical drilling inspections, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Structural Engineering

  • Experience with using a general use structural analysis program (GTStrudl, STAAD, LUSAS, etc.)

  • Internship or co-op experience

  • Bridge and/or Construction Inspection experience
