Job Summary

Afghanistan on the

EAGLE contract for a

Allied Trades Supervisor. Supervises a professional team encompassing a wide range of functions within the discipline:

a. Interviews, selects and places candidates into open positions.

b. Evaluates staff, comparing objectives and achievements in staff assessments.

c. Coaches employees in their professional career development and process improvements.

d. Issues disciplinary action when required.

e. Recommends termination or contract non-renewal when appropriate.

Conducts weekly meetings with subordinates to review the status of operational requirements and other matters thatpertain to the Performance Work Statement (PWS). Required to gain access to GCSS-A, IGC, FedMall, LIW and WEBVLIPs for parts and document research. Generates GCSS-A reports as required. Responsible for assigning your personnel into the correct work center in GCSS-A. Responsible for creating and changing your personnel’s work schedules in GCSS-A as required. Responsible for managing your shops GCSS-A Equipment Status Report (ESR) and the ability to brief statuses of equipment on order in GCSS-A. Constantly monitors repair activities to ensure all procedures are performed safely. Provides guidance and assistance to assigned personnel on current practices, and procedures to be employed, quantity and quality of work expected, and tools and materials to be used. Plans work schedules, sequence of operations and distribution of work. Designates workers, assigns work, explains work requirements, and assists in resolving problems. Immediately stops all unsafe actions. Recommends approved leaves through management. Maintains time and attendance records. Maintains equipment schedules and logs. Accounts for all government and company property that is required, received, stored, and used. Ensures that equipment and supplies are utilized properly. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Counsels employees on minor problems, resolves complaints, and makes recommendations on appraisals, promotions, awards, and disciplinary actions. Collaborates with direct supervisor of SAMS-E personnel to ensure accurate Employee Performance Appraisal. Reviews accuracy of work and ensures conformance to required standards. Must have the ability to move to and from several sites to ensure appropriate actions are being taken. Prepares reports and briefings as required. Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the AC FIRST Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries. Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of the AC FIRST Quality Management System. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • 5 years’ experience in Allied Trades position required.

  • 1 – 3 years supervisory experience preferred

  • Knowledgeable and highly skilled in the use and operation of Global Combat Support System- Army(GCSS-A).

  • 4-6 years’ experience in one or more areas of Welding, Machine Shop, Auto body, Paint shop and

  • Fabrication/Manufacturing environment is required.

  • NACI / Tier 1 for US Citizens and PCC for Non US Citizens

  • Valid Driver’s license or equivalent required.

  • Must be Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) certified or obtained within 90 days after arrival in country.

  • Must possess USG GCSS-A external certification.

  • AWS welding certificate from a vocational academy or equivalent, is required.

  • Work experience may be substituted for educational requirements and/or educational achievements may

  • be substituted for years of experience. Example: Two (2) years of experience is equivalent to (2) years of

  • college and vice versa.

  • Global Combat Support System- Army (GCSS-A).

  • Logistics Information Warehouse (LIW) Capabilities such as:

  • i) Logistics Integrated Data Base (LIDB).

  • ii) Integrated Logistic Analysis Program (ILAP).

  • iii) Federal Logistics Information System (FLIS)/FEDLOG.

  • Must be able to pass Supervisor and GCSS-A specific Skill PQS within 30 days of hire and as required throughout period of employment.

  • Must have knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Project, SharePoint, and other software programs

  • Must possess knowledge of proper welding and machine shop procedures.

  • Must possess thorough knowledge of Army/Military technical publications.

  • Must be able to communicate in English, both oral and written.

  • Must understand blueprints, manufacturing diagrams and CAD related programs. Accurately uses andreads various measurement devices such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, weld gauges

  • and tools at the unit and DS/GS level.

  • Possess knowledge of metals and the use of them in various applications

  • Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during a 77 hour work week.

  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. continuously, 50 intermittently.

  • Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures. Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Trade School preferred.
