This position is an exciting opportunity to join one of AECOM’s most cutting-edge engineering groups. AECOM Process Technologies provides specialized, engineered solutions that advance environmental sustainability and overcome the regulatory and operational challenges facing industry today. Our scope of services span from consulting to detailed design and from conceptual development through turnkey project delivery. Our expertise encompasses numerous environmentally focused areas: Air Pollution Control; Alternative Fuels; Carbon Capture & Sequestration; CCGT Modernization; Long-duration Energy Storage; PFAS Treatability; Process Development & Implementation; Site Remediation; Solid Waste & Byproduct Management; and Water Management and Wastewater Treatment . Typical projects are throughout North America and can range in value from $100,000 to $100,000,000, and can encompass all phases of project execution, including engineering, procurement and construction.
Overall, the Senior Project Controls Analyst plays an integral role in ensuring all assigned client projects succeed in attaining their financial, schedule, and performance targets as defined by the client contract and internal AECOM expectations. Specifics include:
Establish project budgets from proposal estimate.
Coordinate with other project personnel to develop effective WBS structures.
Coordinate with junior project controls to set up projects timely and accurately in the project accounting system.
Prepare regular cost reports which include tracking actual costs as well as committed costs for subs/vendors against budgets. Update forecasts based on progress assessed thru earned value, discussions with project team and other tools.
Prepare and maintain engineering and/or construction earned value reports.
Ensure timely creation and maintenance of project schedules using, in most cases, Primavera P6.
Ensure schedule coordination with project management, engineering, procurement, construction, and external clients. Use resource loaded schedule for staffing forecasting and reporting of earned value. Provide critical path analysis, identify problem areas, and create work-around solutions.
Communicate effectively the results of cost and schedule analyses with PM and other project leaders. Identify issues, successes, and develop project recovery plans when required.
Identify out of scope work items and maintain internal change log. Create change notice and change order requests to be presented to client, including estimated cost and schedule impacts.
Review and recommend action on change order claims from vendors and subcontractors.
Lead meetings with internal project teams, vendors/subcontractors, and external clients.
Assist Project Managers in establishing Purchase Orders and Subcontracts and monitoring subcontractor or vendor spending against their commitments and budget, raising any issues or concerns.
Liaise with subcontractors regarding progress, schedules, contract administration, etc.
Develop and maintain project cash flow.
Review client invoices for accuracy.
Prepare and submit monthly reports for internal and external clients.
Read and understand client contracts and subcontracts; particularly as related to scope, schedule, budget and risk. Coordinate with project manager to ensure all procedures are in place to meet contractual requirements.
Minimum Requirements :
BA/BS + 6 years of experience related to project controls with the extensive use of computer software scheduling and cost tracking tools.
Ability to pass MVR check.
Bachelor's Degree in engineering, construction management or related field experience with 10+ years of relevant project controls experience in the industrial or power sector
Demonstrated experience performing project controls duties successfully on alternative delivery projects that involve procurement of engineered equipment and/or construction.
Proven experience developing resource loaded schedules in Primavera P6
Demonstrated leadership and communication skills.
Detailed knowledge of project planning and scheduling methods, practices, and earned value.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook)
