Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer (Engineer V) to be based in Austin, TX

The job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Work in cooperation with our West Region Bridge Inspection practice to build a Texas-based bridge inspection team, and lead pursuits of bridge inspection contracts among various agencies, including TxDOT.

  • Lead bridge inspection field operations in Texas and support the West Region Bridge Inspection practice as needed (Team Inspection Leader certification required).

  • Work in cooperation with our statewide bridge design teams to lead bridge maintenance and repair pursuits among various agencies, including TxDOT (Texas PE and prior PM experience required).

  • Work in cooperation with our statewide bridge design teams to lead and execute bridge maintenance and repair contracts among various agencies, including TxDOT.

  • Develop scopes of services and provide estimates for the engineering budget and schedule for bridge inspection and bridge maintenance and repair contracts.

  • Support bridge and structure design tasks with performing design reviews, as needed.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Texas PE license or can be acquired within 90 days of hire.

  • Bridge Inspection Lead certifications (NCHRP and TxDOT).

  • ·Experience in developing and monitoring compliance with contract scopes, budgets and schedule

  • Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Business Administration is highly preferred.

  • 10 plus years of bridge design experience in Texas preferred.

  • Knowledge of TxDOT Bridge Design, Bridge Inspection and Maintenance policy manuals and guidelines.

  • Experience with design software, including MicroStation, Bridge Geometry System (BGS), PGSuper, STAAD-PRO (or similar), Bentley LEAP Bridge, SPColumn, LPile, MDX.

  • Good verbal and communication skills.

  • Design and preparation of plans, specifications and estimates for TxDOT projects.

  • Interested in working with teams in the West Region Bridge Inspection practice, and large design teams in a fast-paced environment.
