AECOM is seeking a Proposal Manager with experience preparing proposals>$20M across Federal Civilian agencies to collaborate with regional and business line teams on identified priority pursuits, including partnering in pre-solicitation efforts and the preparation of formal and informal proposal responses and supporting short-list interviews. The ideal candidate is based in Arlington, VA; Austin, TX; or Orange or Sacramento, CA, however, we are open to any location in the US near an AECOM office.

The Proposal Manager will collaborate with regional and business line teams on identified priority pursuits, including partnering in the preparation of formal and informal client solicitations, requests for qualifications (RFQ), requests for proposals (RFP), shortlist interviews, and pre-solicitation efforts. Successful candidates will demonstrate they have the initiative, skill, and personal commitment to manage multiple projects and details concurrently, follow up, and bring tasks and projects to full completion. An ability to produce accurate, compliant, and compelling work independently and with others is essential. The position also requires an ability to meet non-negotiable client deadlines, sometimes with very fast turnaround times. Additional responsibilities include the following:
Serves as marketing lead for Federal civilian proposals, collaborating with Client Account Managers (CAMs), Market Sector Leaders, and BLs. May serve as a partner to the CAM as the go-to marketing resource for their account(s).
Develops and implements client/portfolio marketing strategies and priorities working in collaboration with CAM, BL, Regional and Communication Leaders to ensure alignment with overall corporate strategy.
Participates in strategic planning that includes evaluating marketing intelligence, identifying customer concerns and key issues, and developing win strategies.
Contributes to leadership and strategic direction for proposals, and reports on capture planning, proposal efforts, and debriefs.
Contributes to development and implementation of internal training program on topics related to core processes, tools, practices, or other special topics, as needed.
May lead special projects involving teams of BL or multiple staff, as directed by Marketing Lead
Support marketing communications team to provide content development for the website, brochures, and other digital media and thought leadership in collaboration with CAMs or Market Sector Leaders.
- Bachelor’s degree plus a minimum of four (4) years of related experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
5-10 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years of experience writing, coordinating, and managing proposals (SF330, multi-volume).
Strong writing and editing skills.
Experience managing proposals for architect-engineer and environmental services.
Ability to write, edit and produce documents in Word and Power Point are essential. In addition, experience with Adobe InDesign is preferred.
A working knowledge of collaborative tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, etc.
Experience managing proposals>$20 million (IDIQ contracts, stand-alone projects, and task orders) for a range of Federal civilian clients (DHS, DOT, NASA, DOS, etc.)
An understanding of CRM. Salesforce experience is a plus but not essential.
