AECOM Entry Level Planner in Austin, Texas

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Entry Level Planner to be based in Austin, Texas.

This position is expected to begin in January 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning and project development activities for transit and rail projects under supervision of more senior staff.

  • Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans and programs.

  • Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, roadway network, crash records, and asset inventories.

  • Utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze data and prepare detailed maps for use in reports.

  • Conducts concept level evaluation of transportation improvement options.

  • Documents and presents findings on transportation planning projects.

  • Researches current transportation related topics at local, State, and Federal levels.

  • Researches project options and documents findings

  • Assists with other duties assigned by senior staff and/or Project Managers.

Minimum Requirements

  • BS in Civil Engineering, or related fields with a focus on transportation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical writing

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Proficiency with Geographic Information Systems, including ArcMap and ArcGIS Online

  • Basic knowledge of transit and transportation planning topics
