AECOM Entry Level Geologist in Austin, Texas

The Environment Business Line at AECOM Technical Services is seeking an environmental geologist or related discipline to join our (Austin, TX) office as project staff. Responsibilities will involve supporting projects of various size and scope in field and office setting in contaminant investigation, contaminant remediation, and environmental due diligence.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Use basic scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope.
Collect and enter data, and apply technical principles and theories.
Interpret and record data, conducts analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
Review analytical data for general indicators of quality for routine analyses based on well-defined guidelines.
Coordination with task and project managers, working with on-site subcontractors and field staff, supporting sampling, data collection, and field documentation.
Entry-level position; may not require previous experience
BA/BS + None or AA/AS (US) + 2 Years of experience or Diploma/Certification
Technical writing skills
MS in Geology, Hydrogeology
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong communication skills, the ability to write/prepare technical documents, and the ability convey thoughts and ideas in a clear, concise manner.
Ability to follow written and/or verbal instructions, and the confidence to ask questions to grasp objectives.
Ability to take instruction, operate within a team network, and work independently without direct supervision.
Successful candidates will be self-motivated and able to balance work schedule.
Experience in data collection, data review and preparation of scientific documents.
Knowledge of environmental science principles and local environmental systems, site assessments and environmental investigations including soil and groundwater sampling techniques.
Working knowledge of drilling techniques and applicable field safety associated with outdoor investigations.
Ability to interact appropriately with regulatory personnel and clients for routine tasks and meet required schedules while producing quality work.
Must be in good physical health with the ability to work long hours outdoors in all weather conditions.
Candidate is expected to possess solid technical and problem solving skills, and must be willing to accept occasional short and long term field assignments.
Valid driver license required and must be able to safely drive to job sites.
40-hour HAZWOPER Certification is a plus.
