AECOM is seeking a highly talented and energetic Construction Project Manager for immediate employment in our Austin, TX office who has experience with planning, managing and overseeing construction work for vertical (facilities) projects or programs. This position requires the technical skills to effectively lead and manage plans, consultants and budgets for multi-project engagements.
Act as Owner’s Representative on-site for quality assurance and construction compliance from CMAR and/or General Contractor
Responsible for the direction and management of assigned projects and contracts.
Establishes and builds professional relationships with Clients, other Consultants and Contractors.
Understands construction execution plans, logistics and implementation strategies.
Oversees the design and/or construction phase execution.
Manages the coordination, interface and interactions with internal disciplines and teams within AECOM and with 3rd parties in relation to Technical, Financial, Safety, Quality, and other elements of a project, to ensure successful execution of the PgM scope of services.
Coordinate projects for on-schedule completion within or below budget in accordance with contractual obligations.
Responsible for quality assurance and oversight of contract activities and performance metrics to meet construction project goals & objectives.
Responsible for compliance with corporate safety requirements.
Produces regular effective project reports to both Client and AECOM team leadership – weekly and monthly with program updates
Oversees Change Management and Risk Management on the project
Lead support role for change order reviews and negotiations
Takes an active, personal role in the establishment, implementation and management of project Quality Assurance, Safety and Risk Management Systems and Procedures.
Assists the senior management team in devising and executing actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or schedule delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work.
Monitors and reports to management on the progress of all project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions, which would affect project cost or schedule. Supports or develops recommendations and action plans to resolve issues affecting or likely to affect the successful execution of the works..
Establishes regular meeting to review package status, formulate action items and follows up on close out.
Works proactively, constructively and fairly with all parties to ensure the successful execution of the project
Validate the execution of all permitting and inspection activities on-site
Coordinates all close-out, punchlist and move-in activities with the project stakeholders
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
Bachelors Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration. Architecture, or related field and 6 years of construction related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Previous project management, construction management, and project controls (cost and schedule)
Construction field experience required
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook).
Have and maintain a valid Texas driver’s license.
Certified Construction Manager (CCM) or Project Management Professional (PMP), or advance degrees a plus
Experience with Educational Projects (K-12 and/or Higher Ed) Programs considered
