Job Description
AECOM is looking for a Bridge Design Project Engineer for our growing Austin, TX. office.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
Identifies discrepancies in results.
Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design
elements for engineering works.
Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position.
Preparation of Structural Design Reports, Inspection Reports, Evaluation Report
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
- BA/BS + 6+ years of demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirements:
PE license in the state of Texas or has the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
6-10 years of highway bridge structures design project experience with TxDOT projects and standards
Previous work experience in bridge design
Proficiency in OpenRoads, Microstation, LEAP Concrete/Bridge, MathCAD, PGSuper, and MDX
Experience with OpenBridge modeler a plus
Project management skills, including proposal preparation.
Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, including technical report writing.
Knowledgeable of standard engineering practices, techniques and applicable Codes.
Knowledge of current industry-standard structural modeling software tools
Master's degree a plus
Ability to do occasional travel.
