Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Assistant Contract Manager to be based in Austin, TX .
The Assistant Contract Manager responsibilities include:
Coordinate & facilitate negotiations with civil, mechanical & electrical engineering teams and construction contractors
Prepare & draft official legal letters regarding matters such as construction safety notices, delay notices, claims, warning letters, compliance etc.
Draft, evaluate and check for compliance with construction contracts usually done on an AIA template
Draft, evaluate and check for compliance purchase order agreements with construction fabricators
Conduct legal research and prepare internal research memorandums
Document control & evidence collection
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelors degree plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Must be able to pass client background checks
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree plus 4 years of relevant experience
Master’s Degree in: Construction, Commercial Real Estate, Business Administration, Contract Management, Master of Law or equivalent preferred
5 years of experience in Commercial Real Estate, Insurance Claims or Construction
2-5 years of prior experience with commercial real estate contracts especially in roles such as construction, development and acquisitions
1+ year of litigation experience, especially familiarity with the discovery process & evidence preservation
Texas specific legal experience
Prior experience working within a large organization and project size
Holds any of the following professional certifications: Six Sigma Certified, Project Management Certified, Paralegal Certificate
Strong verbal & written communication skills
Ability to work in a highly diverse multi-lingual environment
Ability to adapt & learn quickly as this is not a design build project but rather one with continuously changing designs
Strong understanding of commercial, financial, construction and real estate contract terms & conditions
Ability to quickly analyze extremely dense contracts often averaging over 100 pages
Ability to managing many competing tasks and to quickly triage by priority with minimal external input
