We are appointing Transport Planners to take on key technical project delivery roles working across our national Advisory practice from our Auckland office. This is an excellent opportunity to further raise your local and national profile working within a strong, vibrant and supportive team. We are leading the delivery of some of New Zealand’s most complex and transformational transport projects including the City Rail Link (Link Alliance), Te Tupu Ngātahi (Supporting Growth) Alliance, and the Eastern Busway. You will be working alongside technical leaders across our Advisory business in transport planning, transport advisory and traffic engineering. In addition to our local teams you will have opportunities to draw on our international transport planning networks and work collaboratively with our ANZ colleagues on best practice, innovation and world-leading project delivery.
You will be a key technical advisor providing expert advice and guidance to internal and external clients, building and enhancing client relationships, winning work and delivering excellent project outcomes. You will be expected to be based at our Auckland office, with opportunity to travel to other locations around New Zealand from time to time.
The successful candidate will:
Contribute to and deliver complex urban projects supporting healthy, sustainable and vibrant community outcomes across transformational transport and infrastructure projects.
Be abreast of recent industry developments, current industry challenges and best practice within the field.
Provide strategic and transport planning advice on local, regional and national policy and projects.
Consistently communicate difficult or complex ideas clearly and effectively, with a wide variety of senior, technical, business and management audiences, both internally and externally.
Be an active member of relevant Technical groups or societies
Maintain and develop key client relationships and in areas of emerging opportunity.
Prepare and produce proposals, reports, documents or materials in business and industry-specific language
Maintain, develop and retain a high standard of technical skills, with the aim to work towards becoming an acknowledged leader within their field
Support and contribute to a team environment of creativity, innovation and excellence
Provide mentoring and career development support to team members
Demonstrated technical experience in areas such as: integrated land use and transport planning studies, design of multi-modal, public transport, active modes and freight networks, and project management
Recent experience in delivering robust business cases across a range of transport infrastructure
Excellent analytical, writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
High level attention to detail and accuracy
Passionate, collaborative and supportive team member.
Demonstrated ability to problem solve and deliver quality technical analyses and reports.
Master planning and/or strategic transport planning experience would be an advantantage
A relevant tertiary qualification in transport planning, engineering or other related discipline (a masters degree qualification is an advantage).
Preferably a chartered or professional member of relevant professional body
