Job Summary

AECOM’s Transportation Team in Auckland has an opportunity for an Principal level Stormwater Engineer who is looking to take the next step in their career. This is role would play a key role in providing technical expertise for design of stormwater management systems, on a range of transport projects, including major high profile projects. You will be involved in detailed design, design management and project management, working with a multi-disciplinary team on a range of projects.

This role provides a fantastic opportunity for an engineer to grow their experience, working as part of a high performing, close-knit regional team, with contact and support from global technical specialists. In addition to providing technical input and advice, you will be given the opportunity to work directly with clients, expanding your business development and networking skills. You will guide and mentor junior engineers, contributing to the growth of our talent pipeline.

As a Principal engineer in our business, you will have the opportunity to take a design lead role on our multi-disciplinary projects and work with the team to integrate related work streams including roading, structural geotechnical and urban design/landscaping.

Minimum Requirements

You will likely hold at least 12 years post graduate experience and able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in the design of stormwater reticulation systems, culverts, stormwater treatment and management devices.

  • Fundamental understanding of 12D design software.

  • Good understanding of software such as AutoCAD, Culvertmaster, Flowmaster, HEC-RAS etc.

  • Good technical understanding of Hydrology and Hydraulics.

  • Familiar with NZTA and Council guidelines.

  • A transport or urban development project background.

  • Experience in consulting sector.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Civil Engineering – or similar;

  • CPEng (or working towards.).
