AECOM’s award-winning Power business is looking for an experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to support the successful completion of a range of complex Industrial and Infrastructure projects across Australia and NZ.
Working as a key member in a dynamic, consulting environment, you will be leading the technical design and delivery of industrial and water projects and providing guidance to support the growth and development of our professional engineers.
Key tasks include:
Technical input and delivery Industrial and water projects
Coordinating with other discipline leads on large scale projects
Growing AECOM’s client base and specialist offering in the market
Providing support and guidance to junior engineers
Site visits, inspections and commissioning
Drafting design reports
Assisting with the preparation of proposals
Reviewing budget estimates and pricing schedules
Travel to other AECOM, client or site offices
You will have a proven background in Infrastructure and Industrial design and have a passion for working collaboratively within a close-knit team to deliver high-quality engineering designs, construction supervision and commissioning of fluids handling systems for hazardous materials such as piping, pipe supports, piping stress analysis, pumps, valves, storage tanks, pressure vessels, pressure/vacuum relief systems.
Experience of mechanical building services and ventilation systems would also be an advantage.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
CPEng or equivalent is essential
15 years+ experience in Mechanical Engineering including industrial, chemical and water engineering.
Knowledge of the local market in Australia/New Zealand
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to work as part of a multi-discipline team are essential
