AECOM Associate Director / Principal Geometrics Designer in Auckland, New Zealand

Job Summary

Our Civil Infrastructure team in Auckland is expanding and we are looking for an Associate Director or Principal level Geometrics Designer.

You will be a key member of our multi-disciplined design engineering team and be responsible for the delivery of geometric design elements of projects using 12D, ORD and / or MX.

As an AD/ Principal Geometrics Engineer you will:

  • Comply with the AECOM Safety, Health & Environment (SH&E) policy by adopting best work practices

  • Possess and demonstrate solid functional and/or technical knowledge, skills and abilities to deliver geometric designs using MX, ORD and / or 12D

  • Mentor junior team members in the development of their design skills, enhancing both your own and the company’s capabilities.

  • Maintain and develop expertise and stay abreast of developments, current industry issues and best practice in your technical field.

  • Consistently communicate difficult or complex ideas clearly and effectively, with the project manager, design manager or others as applicable.

  • Monitor personal time to work within allocated design budgets and highlight early if additional time is required.

  • Take responsibility for delivery of tasks and individual projects. This involves technical quality, budget and programme.

  • Work with other AECOM team members to ensure resources are available to meet project needs.

  • Consistently communicate difficult or complex ideas clearly and effectively, with a wide variety of senior, technical, business and management audiences, both inside and outside of AECOM.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience in transportation design with sound knowledge of relevant local council and national standards

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in a civil engineering role

  • Ability to successfully mentor geometric designers

  • Consultancy experience is highly regarded

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Civil Engineering or similar

  • CPEng is preferable but not essential
