AECOM's Transportation Business Line is actively seeking a highly talented Senior Multi-modal Program Manager for immediate employment located in Southeast, principally Atlanta, GA area. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in the transportation industry and have a successful track record of winning and managing major multi-modal project or programs. The applicant will have demonstrated experience in developing teams and approaches to winning and executing major projects and programs. The position will report to the Regional Business Line Leader for the Southeast Region and will work in a matrix organization, with local transportation and operations staff, regional leadership, and national transportation business line executives to assist in winning and deliver new AECOM work with major clients across the Southeast Region and will assist in major pursuits where possible across the Americas. The focus will be on project or program development from conception through preliminary or final design.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Leading the business development and strategic planning for multimodal projects in the SE Region with responsibility for developing clients, staff, and strategic teaming partners
Identifying, and in some cases creating, new business opportunities with existing clients while expanding the regional portfolio to new clients
Providing strategic leadership for pursuits including pre-positioning, capture planning, and proposal development
Supporting GA Transportation and the SE Region with strategic planning including cross business line and market sector opportunities
The Senior Multimodal Program Manager plans direct and supervises all operations included in a large, complex project or program of several moderately-sized projects with greater risk and complexity, and significant financial impact. The position resolves complex issues and anticipates client and resource needs; also manages or directs projects from a local to national basis achieving quality outcomes, financial performance, and client satisfaction; successfully develops strategy, leads proposal efforts, negotiates contracts, and executes the project; acts as primary point of contact with the client and has full responsibility for project delivery. The position leads project teams that often include multiple members, representing multiple business lines and disciplines, working in remote locations and including subcontractors.
This is a high profile position requiring management of multi-disciplinary teams required to deliver complicated multimodal transportation projects. It requires technical coordination and proactive management of a range of disciplines, including stakeholder communications and facilitation; NEPA environmental process strategy and management; traffic and transit operations modeling; and engineering design of transit systems and facilities, complete streets elements, and roadway facilities. The objective of the position is to develop and execute work required to deliver client projects within established and agreed budgets and schedules, thereby expanding AECOM’s reputation as the preferred multimodal transportation planning and design services consultant in the industry
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline
10+ years of industry experience
Work with the National Transportation Business Line leadership team, Area and Regional Executives (operations and business development), the Transportation Regional Business Line Leader (RBLL), and area Business Development Leads on development and execution of significant project pursuits and delivery
Formulate and execute project opportunity capture strategies, including teaming and positioning for specific pursuits and identification of required staff resources to win and effectively deliver projects
Establish relationships with both external and internal clients and customers, including industry associations and other potential consultant team members
Work with area and regional business development leaders to identify upcoming transportation pursuits
Lead the proposal development process including team formulation, Statement of Qualifications, Technical Proposals and Presentations
Attend conferences and workshops to strengthen existing client relationships and establish new relationships
Obtain an understanding of emerging technologies and market drivers
Maintain a high local and regional profile
Master's Degree in Business Administration, Urban Planning, Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline
Registered as a Professional Engineer, Certified Urban Planner, Registered Architect and/or Program Management Professional
Track record of exceptional client service and program delivery
Recognized passenger rail program/project delivery leader
Recognized leader in developing and nurturing relationships with key clients
Recognized leader in professional organizations
