AECOM is seeking a TMC Technical Specialist to be based in Atlanta, GA.
Transportation Management Center (TMC) Technical Specialists are responsible for monitoring field devices, calibrating and configuring Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) devices; documenting ITS device configurations; adding ITS devices to the Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS); and research and testing of new and proposed devices, software, and innovative solutions.
Additional Job Description:
Calibrate and configure ITS devices
Monitor field devices status. In case of device failure, report the failure using a “trouble ticket” notification system. Conduct the initial evaluation of the failure and if needed, contact the ITS Maintenance Vendor
Research and bench testing of existing and proposed equipment, software, and innovative solutions
Research new equipment, software, and innovative solutions to determine feasibility
Conduct operational tests to confirm that equipment or software operates per manufacturer’s specifications
Assist with pilot testing of innovative solutions
Recommend equipment based on technical merits and cost effectiveness measures such as life cycle, maintenance, and other costs
Capable of stepping in and troubleshooting failures of the video wall under guidance and direction
Use and monitor the ITS Asset Management System (IAMS) to track device maintenance
Assist Department staff in identifying ITS infrastructure needs including recommendations for the location of new ITS field devices
Adhere to TM Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Operating Guidelines (SOG), and Manuals
Other ad-hoc initiatives as assigned by the Project Management Team

BA/BS + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Physically able, with or without an accommodation, to work in an office environment. Position requires often performing keyboard/mouse operations and standing or sitting for long periods of time; occasionally standing/walking; rarely climbing stairs. Position may include wearing a dispatch headset, viewing CCTV camera displays, and listening to law enforcement radio broadcasts.
Have one (1) or more years of experience configuring ITS devices
Have one (1) or more years of experience documenting ITS device configurations
Have one (1) or more years of experience adding ITS devices to an ATMS software package
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
Works under direct supervision
