Position Title Senior Project Architect – Health Care, Atlanta

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Project Architect/Project Architect with Healthcare expertise for immediate employment for the Atlanta office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Be a key leader in the Atlanta Healthcare Practice
Coordinates the healthcare design and production team, specifications, writers, consultants, vendors, building officials/inspectors
Maintains the project manual and specifications and standards for Healthcare projects.
Strong mentoring skills with Healthcare project team staff to ensure the highest quality of documents is being developed across the Healthcare platform
Assists project managers to assess workload and schedule
Responsible for code compliancy as it relates to ADA and Life Safety in relation to planning and documentation
Assists in development of project scopes, schedules, manpower allocations and budgets, coordinating with Project Managers, senior staff, and other department leads
Oversees technical application of design vision for all projects and ensuring that constructability methods and technologies are explored and implemented
Motivates and mentors junior staff ensuring their professional and technical development
Understands design and technical criteria compliant with all applicable codes and standards
Monitors project schedules and tasks while enforcing office standards and budgeting hours per fee contracts
Manages multiple aspects of client, team and project coordination, including full documentation coordination
Manages communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants and in-house leadership
Provides technical guidance and innovative solutions to resolve complex technical and design challenges.
During the construction process on projects, oversight on the following with staff members:
Prepares reports and specifications
Conducst on-site observations and documents site reviews
Processes submittals, RFIs, substitution requests, etc. during construction
Interfaces with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project as required with the Technical Leaders
Responsible for technical implementations of design concepts during construction documents, specifications, building, & construction administration
Provides coordination of all engineering discipline’s & outside consultants
Maintains and monitors project profitability along with PM
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies
Supports Corporate Workplace leadership and Human Resource in conducting new employee interviews, hiring and performance reviews
Business Development Responsibilities:
Support sCorporate Workplace leadership in new business development efforts
Maintains client relationships and assists in the development of new revenues through continuing services
Represents the Interiors group on professional organization boards or committees as appropriate
Active member in a professional trade organization
Bachelor's degree in Architecture
10+ years of relevant Healthcare experience as a project architect with strong skills and knowledge in healthcare planning, equipment layout and base building architecture
Licensed Architect in Georgia
Strong Acute Care, Children’s and Rehab Healthcare experience in the Atlanta market
Knowledge of project and delivery process including project management, staff planning & budgeting
Expertise in building construction, IBC, ADA, LEED and other jurisdictional requirements
Highly organized with an attention to detail
Excellent communication and writing skills
Experience with Revit (mandatory), AutoCAD (mandatory), Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, 3dMax, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and MS Office
Ability to define and manage BIM execution plan
Master's degree in Architecture
LEED accreditation & experience a plus
