Responsibilities of the Senior Interior Designer include but are not limited to:
Initiate overall design strategy and design approach for projects
Lead charrettes and generate multiple comprehensive design ideas for clients and design team
Develop design concepts in two and three dimensions
Lead, evaluate and synthesize programming information
Develop test fits and space plans that meet the requirements of the program
Develop finish palettes and present them to the team and client
Communicate design through appropriate media to the team and client
Maintain line of communication and collaborative working relationship with leadership
Provide consistent and timely communication of project information with clients and project team
Mentor and coach staff for growth
Elevate design thought and awareness in studio and inspire others to succeed as creative thinkers and innovators
Assist in management of quality control and team performance for interiors projects
Manage existing client relationships and develop new project opportunities
Assist in preparation of project proposals
Assisting with maintaining resource library vendor contacts and relevant content with staff
Participate in business development and lead prospective client interviews
Network and seek opportunities for projects through knowledge of local real estate brokers, project managers and design industry partners
Be connected and involved in professional organizations (design, construction, real estate, etc.)
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or Interior Design and 10+ years of related interior design project experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education
Proficiency in Revit required
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated success as a project designer on a range of interiors project types
Experience with large scale complex interiors projects
Experience with all project phases including pre-design through construction administration and project close-out
Expert knowledge of contract interiors FF+E market including manufacturers and dealers
Experience documenting FF+E specifications including budget and procurement administration
Experienced in building and maintaining new client relationships
Participation and leadership in professional organizations, speaking engagements, and involvement in education through mentoring of design students
Self-starter, leader, manage and mentor multiple project teams
Able to work and lead a complex team structure in a highly collaborative environment
Detail and process oriented, yet open to change and motivated by innovation
Ability to coordinate design with specialty consultants including MEP, technology, security, AV, etc.
Working knowledge of building codes, ADA, standards and building structures
Experience in maintaining fiscal accountability of projects
Experience in developing and reviewing construction documents
LEED Accreditation / Well certification (AECOM requires accreditation or certification of at least one within 12 months of employment)
Ability to accommodate some regional domestic travel (valid driver’s license may be required)
Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
NCIDQ Certification
Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Teams, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-up, Enscape or other 3D modeling software
