AECOM School Program Coordinator (Georgia Commute Schools) in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking for a School Program Coordinator for our Atlanta, GA office.

In this position, you will be leading the Georgia Commute Schools program promoting student travel programs to schools and districts in the 20-county metro Atlanta region. The regional TDM program, Georgia Commute Options, aims to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality by encouraging commuters to use green and active transportation modes. As the School Program Coordinator, you would provide consulting and programming directly to metro Atlanta K-12 schools/districts and connect them with resources and programming to influence school travel to modes including school bus, bicycle, walking, transit and carpooling.

This position is expected to begin in February, 2022.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Educating parents, students, school personnel, and community representatives on the benefits of alternative transportation modes, as opposed to single family vehicle drop-off/pick up of students

  • Create new and manage existing partner/client relationships with districts, schools, community organizations and stakeholders

  • Deepen existing partnerships through frequent contact and follow-up meetings, tracking program implementation and participation

  • Conduct school/district/community assessments to guide the development and implementation of commuter programming

  • Guide the implementation of the Georgia Commute School’s K-12 Curriculum at metro Atlanta schools, track and report on implementation outcomes

  • Increase participation rates and program awareness within participating districts/schools

  • Develop and implement annual school-based promotions: National School Bus Safety Week, Love My Bus Month and Air Quality Awareness Week

  • Identify “deep dive” opportunities for tailored school- or district-based initiatives specific to local needs such as carpool or transit programming and tailored high school efforts

  • Promote No-Idle/Anti-Idling zones/programs on school grounds for buses and cars

  • Serve as a transportation resource for schools/districts/stakeholders

  • Increase regional awareness of GCO’s school program through presentations and attendance at related networking events and public meetings

  • Report on the school program’s defined metrics and assist with the production of contractual deliverables

  • Exceed monthly/quarterly/annual performance metrics

  • Track partnerships, leads, and activities over time, by utilizing SalesForce.com

  • Create an annual program report and work plan

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 2 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
