AECOM School Outreach Assistant in Atlanta, Georgia

Job Summary

  • Assist School Program Coordinator with promoting transportation programs at individual schools and within school districts in metro-Atlanta

  • Educate parents, students, school personnel, and community representatives on the benefits of alternative transportation modes, as opposed to single family vehicle drop-off/pick up of students

  • Collect data at school outreach events and report on outreach activities and maintain a current, accurate database in

  • Responsible for responding to general school email account and answering general questions related to program and updating School Program Coordinator on prospective school and school district partners

  • Increase program awareness among parents, students, and stakeholders and school partner locations by attending school Parent/Teacher/Student Organization meetings, community tabling events, and monthly encouragement activities

  • Promote regional marketing programs to schools, school districts, parents, and students including National School Bus Safety Week among others

  • Prepare materials for [tabling events including incentive items, flyers, posters, and other related items

  • Devise new approaches to challenges encountered

Minimum Requirements

  • 0-2 years of similar experience; or demonstrated an equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities, and experience

  • Excellent writing and interpersonal communication skills and experience in handling multiple tasks in an organized and efficient manner

  • Energetic, and articulate individual who has the communication skills and persuasiveness necessary to influence, motivate, and inform travelers in the use of travel options

  • Proven track record meeting job performance metrics

  • Ability to achieve objectives through teamwork

  • Field office work will require reliable transportation, a valid driver’s license, and a good driving record

  • Some heavy lifting (30 lbs) may be required

  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Marketing, Business, Education, General Studies, Public-health or related field

  • Experience working with schools and districts

  • Candidates possessing bi-lingual capabilities strongly urged to apply
