The AECOM Remediation Practice is seeking a Civil Engineer Director to join our Remediation team based in Atlanta, GA. AECOM’s Remediation, Restoration and Redevelopment Practice AECOM delivers innovative and often complex solutions to meet our clients’ objectives. We address many different impacted sites – from munitions to PFAS to algae blooms and beyond – every project in our global practice is different.
We are seeking candidates who will be able to immediately contribute to the successful delivery of existing projects, and to promote growth in existing and new markets. The successful candidate will assume leadership roles on projects and within the department, and will develop strong relationships with the team, and with clients to enable the pursuit of new opportunities. We address many different impacted sites – from munitions to PFAS to algae blooms and beyond – every project in our global practice is different.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Serves as technical expert in their domain, recognized as the 'go-to' expert internally and externally
Provides guiding direction and ultimate oversight of engineering engagements.
Sets direction and goals for technology and/or business line.
External spokesperson on technical engineering issues.
Leads the technology strategy for individual's area of expertise.
Technical point of contact for strategic clients and member of AECOM senior leadership team.
As necessary, modifies established guidelines, devises new approaches, applies existing criteria in new ways and draws conclusions from comparative situations.
May provide technical guidance to a modest sized group of engineers, designers, and specialists.
Fully versed in the project change control process and can identify a potential change.
Fully versed with and can check and review the work sequence, general content, and the methods used to generate specifications for the purchase of material, equipment, systems, services, or construction within a specific discipline.
Plans and conducts work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria.
Requires sufficient professional experience to assure competence as a fully trained worker.
BA/BS + 12 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Valid Driver's License with a good driving record
Bachelor's Degree in Chemical, Civil, or Environmental Engineering
13+ years of experience in an Environmental Engineering consulting company
Professional Registration in New York
OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
Experience as a project manager and technical lead on investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, and remedial action oversight
Strong understanding of remediation system design, cost estimating, construction, and OM&M.
Experience with the breadth of federal and local environmental laws, such as CERCLA, RCRA, and TSCA,
