Job Description

AECOM's Transportation group is looking for a Travel Demand Forecasting and Simulation Consultant to work in our Arlington, VA office.

Primary responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Travel demand model design, development, calibration, and application

  • Development and application of dynamic traffic assignment and regional simulation models;

  • Implementation support for activity-based demand models;

  • Travel survey design, processing, and analysis;

  • Travel network/service coding;

  • Project evaluation for Alternatives Analysis/DEIS and major investment studies; and

  • Report writing and presentation of findings.

  • Other duties as assigned.

This role is available immediately.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS in engineering, planning, applied mathematics or equivalent + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in engineering, planning, applied mathematics or equivalent;

  • A Doctoral degree in transportation modeling and simulation may substitute for 2 years of experience

  • 2+ years of professional experience with one or more of the following software packages: CUBE, TransCAD, VISUM, VISSIM, TRANSIMS, DynusT, DaySim, CTRamp, and/or ActivitySim;

  • 2+ years of professional experience with ArcGIS, MS Excel, and MS Access;

  • Demonstrated programming skills in C++ and one or more other programming languages;

  • Excellent problem-solving skills;

  • Solid foundation in travel demand analysis and forecasting principles; and

  • Excellent oral/written communications skills.

  • Software development experience

  • Web-based programming experience

  • Dashboard development in PowerBI or Tableau experience

  • Azure or AWS application development experience

  • Database management experience

  • Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning experience

Offered rate of compensation (Virginia locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $84,300-115,000. AECOM is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits program to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
