AECOM Strategic Account Development and Capture Management in Arlington, Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced professional to hold a position in Strategic Account Development and Capture Management based out of the Washington, DC, office. The position is a member of the regional team and will work closely with senior and local leadership in the execution of account management strategies that focus on growth. In this role, you will support the AECOM U.S. East Region and its clients in all business lines, both for domestic and international activities, including but not limited to working with Client Account Managers and business development leaders to develop and deliver the strategies and supporting products to grow the business.

The ideal candidate is a proven practitioner with experience and familiarity with working closely with senior management across a broad organization that requires the development of strategies and products necessary for successfully engaging both internal and external stakeholders. This position is responsible for developing and delivering integrated messaging, both verbally and in writing, and supporting the development and execution of tactics in support of existing programs/projects and new opportunities for growth, both domestic and international. Duties may also include capture support, proposal development, interview preparation and coaching, event management, facilitation, and after-action activities. The role also supports business development through networking and proposal input, and internal communications contributions in direct support of senior leadership.

Job Description Summary:

  • Experienced with organizations and strategies that involve international organizations that are located in the United States, or abroad.

  • Proficient at communicating effectively; possesses proven writing, editing, and/or photography skills, including being bi-lingual.

  • Under limited supervision, performs work that is varied and requires the application of sound professional judgment, using independent analysis on details of work with evaluation, originality, and ingenuity.

  • Prepares or assists in the preparation of content in support of managing existing client accounts and capturing new opportunities, both domestic and international – this includes proposal development and interview preparation and coaching.

  • Displays the knowledge and ability to apply professional level techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related communication duties.

  • Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate to substantial scope and complexity.

  • Contributes to the completion of organizational projects and goals related to business development with international, federal, state, local and private organizations.

  • Demonstrates substantial expertise as a generalist or specialist.

  • Performs advanced assignments requiring independent decisions and resolves problems using an exceptional degree of ingenuity.

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field

  • Six (6) years of relevant work experience

  • Ability to work at client locations in the DC Metro Area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant work experience

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Experience serving client accounts and interfacing with clients

  • Desire to take on new challenges and help identify solutions

  • Willingness to travel occasionally

  • Multilingual is preferred, English, French and Arabic
