Job Description
AECOM has a position available for a Smart City Planner / Urban Analyst in Arlington, VA. The qualified individual will be joining our flourishing Global Urban Analytics Center of Excellence (COE) team within our Buildings + Places group. This is primarily a Smart City Planner role.
The selected candidate will be working collaboratively with core team members focusing on smart city planning and infrastructure concepts, advanced data-driven urban development strategy among other key areas of work and helping to deliver quality products and solutions to our clients.
The responsibilities of this position include, but may not be limited to, the following: This is primarily a Smart City Planner role.
Under direct supervision, may complete scientific assignments of limited complexity
Work on a wide range of products, projects, and tasks
Develop use cases and analysis to support smart city visioning and strategy
Perform data mining, data manipulation, data analysis, and data visualization
Create reusable scripts and data pipelines to automate procedures
Create client-facing, user-friendly dashboards, tools, and applications
Develop graphics, maps, reports, and presentations
Work on multiple projects and tasks
Work in a collaborative fast-paced environment
Work closely with project team, and collaborate on project scope and delivery
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS degree in Urban Planning or related field plus 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Experience working on smart city planning and infrastructure concepts
Experienced with Excel, GIS and data-based modeling experience
Preferred Qualifications
Masters degree is helpful
Client facing experience is helpful
Experience with developing smart city use cases and user journeys is helpful
Experience with Tableau/Power BI and basic data science
Advanced knowledge of GIS, and coding with R/Python

Offered rate of compensation in Arlington, VA only will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The annual salary range for this position is $70,000 - $90,000.00 .
