AECOM Senior Historic Landscape Architect in Arlington, Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Historic Landscape Architect to be based in Arlington, VA or Germantown, MD.

Your responsibilities as a Senior Historic Landscape Architect will include the following:

  • Responsible for providing architectural guidance, calculations, analysis, studies and recommendations for a specialized segment of the Architectural Discipline within the schedules and budget of an assigned project.

  • May manage various size groups of architects, designers and/or specialists.

  • May work on modest size projects and/or assist Project Architectural or Engineering Managers with higher grades.

  • Lead and prepare cultural landscape reports.

  • Research, documentation, analysis, planning, and design for a broad range of cultural landscape types and scales.

  • Interaction with client and regulatory personnel.

  • Coordination of project teams, schedules, and budgets

  • Facilitate collaborative projects including multiple disciplines, stakeholders, and public

  • Travel to a range of project and office locations, is required, travel expenses provided. Candidates should have the capacity and be willing to work outdoor in all seasons through various kinds of weather, in rural or urban environments, for field surveys and meetings.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field plus 6 + years of experience in landscape preservation.

  • Licensed Landscape Architect.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous project management experience in A/E industry required

  • Mastery of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), ArcGIS, AutoCAD, Sketchup, PowerPoint, Excel

  • Highly organized and professional with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Strong working knowledge of NPS guidelines and SOI standards for treatment of cultural landscapes is required

  • Strong planning and design abilities

  • Previous experience with the National Park Service is a plus
