Job Description
We are seeking an Analyst for our Financial Planning and Management Consulting practices in Arlington, VA. AECOM is a nationally recognized leader in providing transportation infrastructure project development, transportation planning, and management consulting services to the transit, highway, intercity rail, and high-speed rail sectors. We provide high-quality, client-focused professional services to public transit organizations, departments of transportation, transportation authorities and enterprises, metropolitan planning organizations, and local governments. We are one of the premier US transportation planning, travel forecasting, transportation management, and financial planning practices, and our staff includes a nationally recognized multidisciplinary team of economists, financial analysts, engineers, planners, and management consultants. Responsibilities:
Examination of governance and funding for major new infrastructure projects and institutional change
Analysis of issues confronted by transportation managers and assisting them with market, technology, operations analysis, human resources, and financial improvements to achieve their organization objectives
Development and application of financial analysis models to perform capital project financial planning, focusing on multi-year sources and uses of funds analysis and debt financing
Financial and management analysis including innovative finance, public-private partnerships, and strategic and business planning
Development and application of operating and maintenance cost models, including development and application of cost allocation strategies for intercity rail, high-speed rail, and transit clients
Support for grant management and grant programming by transit and rail clients
Extensive contact with client staff, including senior management; governing boards; and elected officials
Report writing and presentation of findings
Contribution to overall engagement profitability and performance
Delivery of timely and quality services that meet or exceed team manager’s and client’s expectations
Participation in professional organizations relevant to the transportation or financial analysis sector.
Qualifications
Minimum:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, accounting, economics, finance management, planning, applied mathematics or related fields
4 years of experience in economics analysis, management consulting, business process improvement or related field
Preferred:
Master’s degree in the areas of engineering, accounting, economics, finance, management, planning, or applied mathematics or related field
Experience and skills in the areas of financial analysis, economic analysis, management consulting, business process improvement, or other relevant area
Experience in understanding and insights in the fields of urban transportation planning, transit management and operations, rail management and operations, budget development and cost allocation principles
Experience with analytical problem-solving skills
Experience with quantitative analysis tools and presenting deliverable products to clients in both written and oral form
Experience with documents and client meetings and presentations
Client experience such as adapting and responding to changes in client expectations
