The Design, Planning and Economics group of AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry Level Planner for employment in the Arlington, VA office. The project planner will serve on multi-disciplinary planning projects for mainly military installations and federal agencies as well as urban, community, and environmental projects. As part of the project team, the planner will develop creative and innovation solutions to address clients’ issues. AECOM is pleased to include you in a unique development opportunity, the Graduate Development Program (GDP). The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Support senior planners and/or project managers in producing documents, reports, graphics, 3D modeling, and materials for community outreach
Compile data and conducts research in support of project delivery
Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member
Compile data and conduct research in support of project delivery
Create graphics to support the planning documents
Play a key role in the preparation of plans
Write sections of planning reports and documents
Produce material for project meetings and workshops
Participate in on-site workshops in support role
Communicate effectively with project team and manager
Master's degree in Planning, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design or other related field required
Positive outlook and can-do approach to tasks
Exceptional writing, research, analysis and communication skills
Excellent time management skills and ability to balance priorities
Effective problem solving and analytical skills
Efficient and organized worker with a high level of attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to develop creative and innovative graphics
Follows guidance well with little oversight
Ability to travel domestically and abroad
Must be able to pass a client-mandated background check
Proficient with ArcGIS, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Due to the nature of this position, US Citizenship is required
Master's degree in Urban and Regional planning or related field highly preferred
Written and graphic samples submitted with application preferred
Experience with SketchUp and AutoCAD
AICP certification (or certification track)
LEED certification (or certification track)
