AECOM Disaster Recovery Market Sector Lead - East Region Water in Arlington, Virginia

Job Summary

AECOM holds vast experience serving federal, state, and local clients throughout the entire disaster lifecycle – with an increase in demand for services in this sector, in particular in the Eastern United States and Caribbean, we are seeking an accomplished leader to champion bringing opportunities and solutions forward. Our intention is to find a candidate that can reside within the southeastern United States - locations can include Washington, DC; Miami, FL, Arlington, VA; and Raleigh, NC. The ideal candidate will have a well-established reputation in serving clients in designing and managing federally supported, state managed and locally executed programs. This role will report to regional executive leadership and coordinate with national and global disaster professionals in AECOM, to ensure we are always bringing consistent, compliant, and complete solutions to our clients. In addition, the most qualified candidate will be able to put forward a resume for program and project management delivery with notable recent experience, including but not limited to FEMA, HUD, SBA, HHS, Cares Act, or DOT related disaster programs.

Additional details:

  • Drives business development activities that include strategy and opportunity development, positioning, teaming, and capture and proposal management

  • Leads project start-up in coordination with regional leadership and project team members as needed for successful client delivery

  • Within individual's area of responsibility, consistently identifies potential project problems or opportunities in a proactive manner, analyzes the issues using all appropriate resources, develops alternatives and arrives at the most optimum approach to mitigate problems or exploit opportunities

  • Defines branding and engagement strategy for regional resources, with coordinated input from other regional, and national AECOM teams

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS and 8+ years of relevant experience

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager or Deputy on multi-million-dollar disaster- or resiliency-related programs or projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Project, Program, or Construction Manager

  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus

  • International project and client engagement experience is a plus

  • 12+ years consulting experience
